SUMMER CAMPS

Summer Camps offer a ½-day or Full-Day of STEAM.  Camp registration begins mid-February to secure a spot.  Terms: $200/week; 12 slots Maximum; 9:00am - 3:00pm, Mon-Fri; 10% discount each additional sibling per camp.  Campers work in teams therefore must work well with others.   Campers may bring a lunch; snacks and water provided.  20% discount when booking at least (3) EdTech Coaching camps online in advance and get automatic entry into a Labor Day drawing for a Chromebook.  Media waiver requested.

INTRO TO ROBOTICS ENGINEERING

June 10-14: Rising grades 6-8.  Campers will have fun exploring the Engineering Design Process (EDP) through the mechanical design and build of an autonomous robot. They will learn basic robot movements through coding, and the use of robot motors and sensors. No prior engineering experience is necessary.  Campers will also build, then expand on the Engineering Design Process (EDP) by attaching sensors that program the robot for problem-solving challenges.  Campers may be partnered so must work well with others.

ENGINEERING DESIGN & MODELING

Postponed until further notice.

Rising Grades 4-7.  Engineering Design & Modeling campers will have fun designing and creating a product to solve a problem. Most maker materials are provided although campers have the option to bring some of their own.

IT'S BLACKADEMIC!

July 29-August 2: Grades 5-8.  Modeled after a popular DelMarVa (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia) TV game show, campers will engage in a scavenger hunt/trivia game that challenges participants with Black History facts not taught in school!  Each day will highlight the contributions of Blacks in 1)Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM); 2)Graphic tools used by Artists and Musicians; 3)Technology tools used by Authors and Educators; 4)Research tools to discover Civil Rights champions in Government; 5)Google Earth trips to the African Diaspora.  Teams compete for prizes awarded at the end of the week!

MAKERSPACES

August 5-9: Grades 4-6.  Campers explore computer science principles and problem-solving using online apps and other STE(A)M tools designed to inspire collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and creativity.  Hands-on activities include but are not limited to circuitry, construction tool kits, graphic arts, LEGOs, K’Nex, and materials that inspire creativity.  All materials provided.  Must work well with others.

AFTER SCHOOL STEAM

Grades 4-8.  The After School weekday program offers a 90-minute block of time devoted to STEAM concepts identified in other camps. Four (4) minimum registrants to hold program; Twelve (12) maximum attendees (8 max for Robotics).   Homeschoolers can arrange an agreed upon site.
